Unadilla Township Regular Meeting Minutes

April 12, 2007

 

Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Pledge to flag.

Present: Peterson, Topping, Mahler, Krueger, Cowan. Absent: None.

Motion Mahler support Topping to approve the agenda as amended. Carried.

Motion Krueger support Mahler to approve Minutes of March 8 and payment of bills as presented. Carried.

Call to Public: Discussion of drainage issues on Bullis Street. Planning report by Krueger.

Duties of Planning discussed. Board would like Planning Secretary Cox to prepare public hearings and publish as there has been confusion in past as to who would do this.

Police Report by Chief Cook. Twelve bikes were donated to Salvation Army, interviewing full time applicants. Discussed Bike Tour coming through Gregory they will pay for one of our reserve officers to direct traffic.

Fire Report by Chief Schroeder. SW Church of Nazarene holding honor day on 29th of March. Motion Topping support Krueger to hire new applicant Allen Beutler. Carried.

Motion Krueger support Cowan to approve of Fire Officers same as last year except moving Stoffer to Captain, doesn't involve any extra pay at this time. Carried.

Recreation/Clean Up Day report by Cowan. Clean up set for June 9th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cowan read letter of appreciation from Eagle Scout Ryan Boyce and presented left over check from pavilion in Unadilla.

Motion Cowan support Mahler to donate $200.00 towards recycling battery program through County. Opposed Peterson. Carried.

Senior Program Report by Mahler. Continued success and improved attendance, enjoying there new room very much.

Zoning Report available in writing. Two new home starts to date in the Township.

Correspondence: Audit will be conducted April 23, and 24th.

New Business:

Show Cause hearing for Richmond's began at 7:41 p.m. Discussed ongoing junk car issues. Mr. Richmond states he has been working on getting them cleaned up, he asked for a 6-month extenuation to finish with Supervisor to periodically check on progress. It was agreed to allow the extension providing he continues to make progress. Hearing closed at 8:15 p.m.

Show Cause hearing for Tilli began at 8:16 p.m. Mr. Tilli presented a letter stating he is trying to clean up but weather not cooperating. He requests till end of May to clean up junk. Zoning enforcement to send letter regarding illegal trailer on property and Supervisor to contact Health Department. It was agreed to give him till end of May to clean up property, but he will have to remove illegal living trailer right away. Hearing ended at 8:52 p.m.

Motion Peterson support Krueger to create Investigator Position for Police Department hiring Ryan Hamlin at $200.00 per pay period. Carried.

Motion Peterson support Mahler to accept bid from Certified Auto to repair police car. Carried.

Clerk to put lawn mowing bids in paper, also planning position open and recreation position open.

Cowan states she was confused at last meeting regarding employee benefits, she wishes to rescind her motion of last month and make a new motion to reinstate health care policy to pay for $500.00 towards their health care or pay $200 per month if they don't need coverage. Support Krueger. Opposed Peterson, Topping, Mahler. Motion Denied.

Final Call to Public: Question on sewer area.

Motion Peterson support Krueger to adjourn at 9:19 p.m. Carried.
