Meeting called to order at 7:02 p.m. Pledge to flag. Present: Peterson, Topping, Mahler, Krueger, Cowan. Absent: None. Motion Krueger support Mahler to approve agenda. Carried. Motion Krueger support Mahler to approve consent agenda items including March minutes and payment of bills. Carried. Call to Public: Linda Walker , 33 year resident here to inform township she is running for 53rd District Court Judge. Reports: Zoning, Planning, Recreation. Public Safety Reports: Police and Fire reports presented. Krueger requested clarification on forfeiture funds being used for purchase of new police car. These funds can be used for this purpose. Motion Krueger support Peterson to approve Fire dept. officers for the 2006/07 year, same as last year’s officers. Carried. Motion Krueger support Cowan to approve two new firemen to roster Brian and Tim Shehan. Carried. Correspondence: Plainfield Cemetery request for donations. Peterson to contact and send copy of statute. Old Business: Senior program to begin in May, meal provided for 60 and up, will have a choice of 2 meals. Requesting donation of 2.25 per person, not required. Planning to serve around noon. Looking for volunteers to help serve, clean up and possibly drive to those unable to come. New Business: Approval to put ad in paper for lawn mowing bids. Peterson opened bids for police car, Motion Krueger to accept bid from Bay Ridge Motors for $2,355.00. Support Peterson. Carried. Peterson opened bids for van, Motion Kreuger support Mahler to approve bid from Bill Casto for $101.00, Peterson adding $50.00 to bid so Township didn’t lose any money. Carried. Discussed work meeting for reserve officer rolls and responsibilities, and cost recovery ordinance, we will meet at the next regular public safety meeting. Final Call to Public: Linda Walker presented update on empty house on Gregory Road. Meeting adjourned at 7:44 p.m.
