Unadilla Township Regular Board Meeting Minutes
June 14, 2007
Meeting called to order at 7:01 p.m.
Pledge to flag.
Present: Peterson, Topping, Krueger, Cowan. Absent: Mahler.
Motion Krueger support Cowan to approve agenda as amended. Carried.
Motion Krueger support Peterson to approve consent agenda items as presented, payment of bills, treasurer report and minutes of May 10,2007. Carried.
Call to Public: K. Schmidt present to thank the Police department, he was a victim of a robbery and our investigator Ryan Hamlin solved the case and recovered all stolen items and the case is being prosecuted. Resident questioned progress on Gregory drain issues. It was explained that the drain commissioner, MDOT, and Supervisor are working on issues. Topping wished to express appreciation to Fire Department, Police Dept., and Supervisor for all their work during the floods. Area residents and area fire personnel pulled together and helped each other. They all put in tremendous amount of volunteer time.
Planning report by Krueger, June meeting is canceled due to scheduling vacations.
Police report by Chief Cook. 4th of July will have additional officers from Pinckney. Two vehicles were seized for drug forfeiture. Bike safety being paid by Ann Arbor bike club, both Chief and Sgt. Russell will be attending.
Fire report by Chief Schroeder DNR grant applied for again.
Recreation/Clean Up report by Cowan. Clean up day was very slow, maybe look at combining with another township next year or going every other year. Recreation committee will meet next week, looking for funds to complete concrete work on gazebo in Unadilla.
Senior report and Zoning report nothing new to report.
Peterson recommends Ryan Hamlin for planning commission open position. Cowan asked some zoning related questions. Motion Peterson support Krueger to appoint Hamlin. Carried.
Motion Topping support Cowan to approve GIS addressing ordinance. Discussion. Opposed Peterson, Krueger. Motion denied.
Motion Krueger support Cowan to approve HSC assessor contract for another year for additional $100.00 per year than prior contract. Carried.
Motion Topping support Krueger to approve paying for Porta-Johns for 4th of July festivities. Wild sanitation always donates one and the township pays for one handicap and one regular. Carried.
Final call to public: Discussion of drains.
Motion Krueger support Peterson to adjourn at 7:37 p.m. Carried.
