Planning Report: Note a correction in planning minutes that Money has been set aside for Master Plan. Police: Motion Cowan support Mahler we continue with K-9 unit for 6months or until insurance policy expires. Opposed Peterson. Carried. Motion Peterson support Mahler to approve splitting bike tour money with officers, 50/50. Carried. Motion Peterson support Mahler to charge for VIN inspections to businesses cost being $25.00, also increase in PBT’s from $5.00 to $10.00 for non-residents, effective August 1, 2006. Carried. Fire: SW Church of Nazarene will be using the fire hall for a car wash on August 5th. Motion Peterson support Mahler to allow the Church the use of the building. Carried. Fire Association is implementing a smoke detector program. Motion Cowan support Peterson to approve program installing smoke detectors donated by the Fire Association and installed as volunteers of our fire department. Carried. Recreation: Cowan requests front money for a fundraiser they are doing for the Trails. They will be doing a run on October 7th as a fundraiser. Motion Peterson support Cowan to approve expenditure not to exceed $1000.00. Carried. Senior Program: Plumbing upgrade was $712.18. Chuck Wisman was present and said he will present to the Lions Club a request for a donation, our hopes is that they can donate $500.00 toward the senior program. Motion Mahler support Cowan to donate the remaining $212.18 for the senior program. Carried. Discussion on pavilion in Unadilla park. Cowan requests donations come through the Township for tax deductions for donators. Motion Cowan support Topping to allow donations to come through township for the pavilion. Carried. Cowan to discuss building code requirements with Ryan. Cost Recovery Ordinance. Motion Peterson support Mahler to set fines and fees at actual cost of the run. Carried. New Business: Alpine Land Development rezoning request from R-3 residential to B-1 business. This is a 1 ¼ acre piece consisting of 5 lots in the Howlett Addition. Motion Peterson support Mahler to approve the rezoning. Carried. Article 2, Section 2.02 definitions regarding airports. Motion Peterson support Cowan to approve addition of definitions as printed. Carried. Motion Cowan support Peterson to deny Beduhn rezoning from R-3 to B-1, per applicants request. Carried.
