Unadilla Township Regular Business Meeting Minutes

September 11, 2008

Meeting called to order by Supervisor Peterson at 7:01 p.m.  Pledge to flag.  Present: Peterson, Topping, Mahler, Krueger, Cowan.  Absent: None.  Motion Mahler support Krueger to approve agenda as amended.  Carried.  Motion Mahler support Krueger to approve consent agenda items including August minutes and payment of bills as presented.  Carried.  Call to Public:  None.  Reports:  Auditor Pat Haniford presented the audit.  Received highest rating.  Planning Report by Topping: open house scheduled for Saturday and Tuesday to present the Master Plan updates.  Police Report by Chief Cook: New car ordered, to arrive in October.  New camera system donated by Ram Services and cables and installation donated by Charter Cable Company.  Chief attended a Town Hall Meeting with School Superintendent, Stockbridge and Waterloo police to reduce drug and alcohol incidents.  Officer Kopacz attended Brighton’s 9-11 Service representing Unadilla Township.  Fire Report by Chief Schroeder:  Fema Grant was not received.  Fire Prevention day is scheduled for Oct. 5, 2008 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Fire Hall.  Motion Cowan support Mahler to approve Jamison Yeager as apparatus technician.  Carried.  Recreation Report by Cowan: She reports she received park plat information. Still working on getting sign for Unadilla Park and horseshoe pit.  Discussed afterschool programs, Monica and her daughter are willing to oversee.  They will contact the school for permission.  Discussion of Lakeland Trails.  Senior Program Report by Mahler:  Golf outing was well attended and earned the Seniors approximately $2,000.00 towards their programs.  Zoning Report available.  Correspondence:  Livingston County Cost Recovery Ordinance.  New Business:  Cowan offered Resolution Thanking the Lion’s Club for the grill and 4 picnic tables they donated.  Supported by Mahler.  Roll vote all approved.  Cowan offered Resolution Thanking Faye and Almaeda Roepke for donating land for a nature preserve in Unadilla.  Roll Vote all approved.  Motion Mahler support Krueger to request Multi-Lakes Board allow Unadilla one more representative on the board, having one for Patterson Lake Sewer system and one for the Gregory Sewer system and to request our appointee be the Supervisor.  All in favor.  Carried.  Motion Peterson support Krueger to approve Mahler be named as Treasurer in our investment policy, and allowed to move and open CD’s as needed for the various funds that Unadilla Township has.  All in favor.  Carried.  Final Call to Public:  None.  Motion Krueger support Peterson to adjourn at 7:48 p.m.
