Unadilla Township Regular Meeting Minutes

December 11, 2008

Meeting called to order at 7:02 p.m.  Pledge to flag.  Present: Walker, Topping, Mahler, Weiland.  Absent: Cowan.  Motion Mahler support Walker to approve agenda as amended.  Carried.  Motion Mahler support Topping to approve consent agenda items including November minutes and payment of bills as presented.  Carried.  Call to Public: K. Schmidt, recommends MTA workshops.  Elizabeth Riggs from Huron River Watershed was present to discuss their 2-year plan to protect freshwater feeding portage creek and all their tributaries.  Sara Thomas from Livingston Land Conservancy was present to discuss their programs for land protection.  Reports:  Planning Report by Topping.  Police Report by Chief.  Cook.  Fire Report by Chief Shroeder.  Recreation Report by Monica.  Senior Report by Mahler.  Zoning Report: written available.  Correspondence: None.  Unfinished Business:  Auditor Contract tabled.  Multi-Lakes Sewer Ordinance.  The ordinance was amended per our request.  Resolution offered by Weiland supported by Walker to approve the ordinance as amended with new language.  Ayes: Mahler, Walker, Weiland, Topping.  Nays: None.  Absent: Cowan.  Resolution 1-1208 approved.  New Business:  Motion Topping support Mahler to accept Weiland resignation as office secretary.  Carried.  Motion Topping support Walker to appoint Weiland as office secretary to perform duties as specified in our personnel policy manual; these duties do not include any statutory duties of a trustee.  Carried.  Motion Walker support Mahler to appoint Topping as board representative to the Planning Commission.  Carried.  Motion Walker support Topping to approve Board of Review for 2009/10, Cronin, Duke, Brown with Helmboldt as alternate.  Carried.  Motion Weiland support Mahler to appoint Jim Peterson acting zoning administrator on a temporary basis, while Anderson is not available.  Carried.  Bids for two cars were opened, Motion Weiland support topping to approve bid of $1500.00 for Crown Vic, with second highest bid as fallback if highest bid was not received within one week.  Carried.  Motion Walker support Weiland to contact two highest bidders of Pontiac and allow them one week to re-bid to break tie, and accept highest bid opened next Thursday.  Carried.  Final call to public:  None.  Motion Topping support Walker to adjourn at 8:03 p.m.  Carried.
