Ofc. Tumbarella serves as a reserve police officer.  He joined the Unadilla Township Police Department in September of 2003 as a reserve police officer.  He previously served as a reserve police officer for nine years with the Richmond, Michigan - Police Department.  He is a graduate of the Macomb Community College – Reserve Police Academy in 1993 and holds an associates degree in Criminal Justice from Macomb Community College.  He is a certified Cyber Crime investigator having completed the 240 hour - Eastern Michigan University School of Cyber Crime Investigation course in 2005.
